We Need Your Help: gf.me/u/xubqsp
I hope you and your families are staying healthy during this unprecedented time in our nation’s history. Two weeks ago was the beginning of what could be our new normal for the next four to eight weeks. I know we will get through this situation but the question becomes what does that look like on the other side.
I believe as property owners we can all pull our resources together to help those in need. By doing so we are all stronger when this situation comes to a close and we beat this virus. It is in all of our best interest to forgo a bit of income so we all don’t experience two to six months of lost rent handing evictions for the foreseeable future. We need to keep struggling families in their homes to keep our economy going once this crisis comes to a close.
HomeRiver Group is proposing that all property owners as well as friends and family give one of the following to our Rental Assistance Fund:
- $500.00 to the Rental Assistance Fund for HRG Residents.
- $250.00 to the Rental Assistance Fund for HRG Residents.
- $100.00 to the Rental Assistance Fund for HRG Residents.
These funds will go to those residents who are in desperate need of our help. We are requiring applicants to submit a request in writing detailing their situation. When they complete the application and verification of hardship, we will give equal amounts of rent relief to those applicants who apply and qualify. We will give every applicant the same amount of relief depending on the size of the fund we are able to raise. The first round of relief will be tallied on Monday April 13th.
If you are one of our property owners, and you would prefer not to go through the Go Fund Me account, we can make the process a little simpler. Just email us the amount you would like to donate and we can put the gift charge on your property account. If you have a family member or friend who would like to give during this crisis and would like to know exactly where their funds are going – I can’t think of a better way to help our fellow neighbors.
Our goal is to keep as many Shelby County residents in their homes as possible. Shelby County is the county most impacted in Tennessee with confirmed cases growing every day/hour. We want them to focus on getting back to work and getting our economy going once we have beat this horrible virus. We are all going to be impacted by the effects of COVID-19 but if we don’t help our neighbors the outcome will become much worse for all of us in the long term. Many restaurants, bars, hotels, etc. have been closed. Memphis does not run without the help of all of these valuable workers. Our economy depends on them to be here to thrive!
This is our time to take the lead and do something truly unique and unprecedented. Yes, there will be some government help but the citizens of the United States have always pulled together to make an impact that truly matters. It is through government and public partnership that we will all get through the COVID-19 virus stronger than ever!
Please join us in helping our neighbors! Let’s keep everyone in their home! I know during times like this we go into defense mode and want to conserve our resources. I’m asking you to change that philosophy for this unique situation. Please join us in making an impact in the communities we serve. It truly benefits all of us as property owners and can take a small portion of stress off of so many families who are struggling.
